0 Run 2, Week 8 (BOHR): Are We There Yet?!

OK, so I waited a bit longer to do my run. OK, a lot longer. ;-) For some reason, I just couldn't motivate myself to get out the door today. I took some time to do some cleaning & straightening around the house, & then relaxed & watched a movie.

And oh, yeah, you might've noticed from the number of weekend blogging entries that I've now got my weekends back. I decided to step down from my management job, (which was in a totally different field from what I was accustomed), & switch to a different part-time position, & I am MUCH happier. Of course, now I've got to look for a new full-time job, but atleast I should be able to cover the basic bills for the time-being. Going back to my other businesses full-time isn't really in the cards right now. Instead, I'm probably going to re-enter the job market in the IT management/program management arena. Of course, I'd love to get a job involving writing, but frankly, unless it can pay as well as IT, it's going to have to wait. You see, I've got some new & exciting business ideas that I'd eventually like to put into action, but I'm currently putting this plan on hold in order to save up enough capital to implement my ideas. Plus, I've put a lot of other areas of my life on hold -- wedding plans (Who knows when the heck that's happening!), my social life (!), & a lot of other areas that've frankly been neglected or sacrificed, just so I can put other priorities first.

Anyhow, this post was supposed to about my run! I have no idea how I got so off-the-subject. So back to that: I don't really have much to report about today's run, other than the fact that the lake was really crowded, & that there was a wonderfully cool breeze which made the hot & sunny weather actually feel pretty darned good.....

Also, I did something a bit different today: I modified my route slightly. I started my run from a completely different section which was connected to the lake & then ran from the complete opposite end from where I usually start, & worked my way around. I did about 5 laps & another long section which I didn't measure, but could definitely tell that, even in the high heat, I was definitely improving & running faster. Also, I wasn't as thirsty & didn't finish all of my water today, leaving a total of about a 1/2 of a bottle at the end of my run!

I will admit that the run did feel kind of long, & when I'd gotten to the end of the third lap, I was really looking forward to cashing it in! I did pick up some speed on the final lap, mostly because I couldn't wait to finish! Well, it feels good now to be done with my run. I'll probably do my pushups in a few minutes, or perhaps sometime later tonight. Frankly, I'm feeling like I need a bit of a break from the pushups routine, so we'll see.

OK, I don't really feel like writing much more today. Got to go soon anyhow, since Erik & I will be going out shortly for a celebratory dinner & a movie. Hope you are all having a great night!
