As most DailyMilers already know, the DM site currently supports Nike+iPod devices (i.e., located under Profile-->Settings-->Devices) & Facebook Connect. Well, get ready, because there are more good things in store for DailyMile users. I have it on good authority that DailyMile will be adding Garmin functionality to their website very soon. In about T-minus 2 weeks to be exact. So, all you Garmin gearheads, are you pumped about that little revelation or what?! :)
I just did a write-up for this blog's advertising & link exchange policy, which I'm hoping that prospective requesters will read. I get a lot of these requests, which is, of course, one of the many reasons I wrote the policy in the first place.
Furthermore, I stand firm by this policy. I feel very strongly that, as both a health/fitness professional & human being, who is concerned about the general welfare of others, that it's ever-so-important to serve as a conduit of accurate information & to support products which further sound health principles.
Most regular readers of this blog already know what I think of get-thin-quick type of schemes. :)
You can rest assured that I will do my utmost to ensure that any products & services showcased here are medically & scientifically sound. Of course, at the same time I try to keep a very close watch on ad content, I also realize that, as hard as I might try, it's not always possible to control automatically-generated ad streams, especially those generated by Google Adsense & AdRoll.
At any rate, I just want all of you to know that I do care about this blog's readership & the type of ads that people are exposed to here. To my mind, the types of ads that appear on a blog are an important concern & do make a difference. The quality & integrity of a site are measured by its contents, & that includes ads.

As some of you may already know, one of my other blogs, Cooking With Corey, offers healthy gourmet recipes & nutrition tips for people focused on healthy living & fitness.
Most of the recipes on this blog are original, created by yours truly. All of the recipes must first go through a process of rigorous scrutiny & taste-testing in my test kitchen before they are posted on the site. Family & friends get involved in the taste-testing process, & if it meets their approval & my own, then & only then, do recipes make the cut.
Due to the situation mentioned in my last post, I have been blogging a bit more about cooking & knitting these days, as friends on Twitter & Facebook have surely noticed. ;)
So that means, while I might not be blogging as regularly here until I jumpstart my fitness program again, that people who subscribe to my other blogs, Cooking with Corey & Underage Knitter, will be the direct beneficiaries. After all, the writing output has to go somewhere! :)

I've thought a lot about whether I should post the below. It is with no small amount of reservation that I post this:
Some people might know that I was recovering from illness & injury. Well, that was true.
What I didn't say at the time was that I've been dealing with a totally different, ongoing illness that has hampered my my running to a large degree. It's not something life-threatening, nor was it caused by anything specific that I did.
Please understand that I don't wish to go into details or answer questions about it, as it is a private concern, but I thought it was only fair to explain what was going on with me in a general way, as there are probably a lot of people wondering why I've disappeared off the face of the online running world (Twitter, Facebook, DailyMile, etc.). I'm doing what I can to get better, but it's a slow process.
The reason I haven't disclosed my situation until now is that I wasn't ready to deal with other people's reactions or curious questions. Furthermore, I don't want anyone's pity.
I don't know how this is going to affect my running/wellness business. It was just getting started, as I just launched it only a few months ago. So, it looks like I'll be putting it on hold for the time-being.
In the meanwhile, hang in there & stay tuned. Just because I'm not currently running doesn't mean that I don't have thoughts on running to post here. :)

Boy, am I excited!!!!! Now, this might not seem like much to others, but for bloggers using Blogger/Blogspot, we are finally able to use tabbed views in any elegant & easy manner, without having to fuss with HTML code or move to Wordpress! Yayayayayay!
I cannot tell you how long I've been waiting for Blogger to create & institute this feature! Of course, there were very messy & imperfect ways of doing this by manipulating HTML/CSS code, but frankly, I didn't have the time to undertake this laborious effort. I had enough to do!
So how does this affect readers of this blog?

People who subscribe via RSS probably won't be able to see these tabs without actually visiting the blog. Of course, RSS readers can just click links for this blog or any of its posts, which will then take them to the blog page view.
As you can probably see, the tabbed views now appear at the top of this blog. Currently, there are 11 headers: Home, About, Goals, Race Calendar, Shop (merchandise from my Zazzle store), Contact, Honors/Press, Running Resources, Advertising, & My Blogs.
This new viewing style allows for a much cleaner blog interface: I'm finally able to clean up this blog's front page & move all of the running resources & other sidebar elements to the tabbed views at the top of this blog. And thank heavens for that, because this blog was beginning to look like a library's card catalog!
This way, I'm still able to prominently feature this information without it cluttering up my blog. Before Blogger's implementation of tabbed views, I didn't want to move this information to a regular post, because it would be buried amongst the other entries.
No longer are there miles & miles of resources listed on the sidebar of this blog. :)
So get ready for a much tidier-looking, better-organized blog. Yes, you can now breathe a sigh of relief! I know I did. :-D
